Bursary Fund Stories- Glory Gatwiri
Just a few days left to the Annual Bursary Fund Day, and we would like you to get to know more about some of those who have previously benefited from this fund.
‘My name is Glory Gatwiri Mwenda, a fourth-year student at MIUC. I love MIUC’s serene environment for studies, the community spirit amongst the students, teaching and non-teaching staff. I enjoy studying at MIUC.
Single-handedly my mum has always been the one who funds my education. It has been quite challenging for her being that she works at a coffee farm and only gets to earn once there are profits made from the sales.
I first heard about the Bursary Fund when I bought a luncheon ticket while in the second year. I got quite excited about this cause and decided to participate in the activities leading to the fundraiser. I then applied for it and managed to secure some funds to clear my tuition fee. Being able to access these funds motivated me to study even harder and made life quite easy for me.
I urge all of you to participate in this initiative. You may not have the funds but you could offer to volunteer in the activities or participate. Your assistance goes a long way; a hand that gives is always blessed. ‘
To support the bursary fund join us on the 21st of March at 9 am for the Annual Bursary Fundraiser. You can also be a part of this by participating in the raffle for just 50 shillings and get the chance to win a smart TV and lots of other prizes.
